*Backgammon* is a board game for two persons played with a backgammon set. One of the earliest known board games, an early ancestor of the backgammon set was found in Mesopotamia in the 1920's and was dated from about 3,000 B.C. The game consists of a backgammon board having two sections or 'tables' and 30 pieces or checkers of two colors. The 2 tables ( one on either side of a backgammon set ) each have 12 points. Each player starts with 15 pieces or checkers that are moved based on the roll of 2 six-sided dice.
